Mitchell W. Hill was arrested after harassing 11 female Louisiana State University students on Facebook. Hill had contacted them through Facebook's online chat service with attempts to blackmail them into performing lewd acts on camera for his pleasure. After the initial complaint by the LSU co-eds police obtained data from Facebook indicating that he had targeted women at other colleges including the University of Auburn, University of Florida, and Florida State University.

His FSU victim Ashley Atchison made national headlines when she came forward with her story on The Today Show on NBC. She described being stalked out of school after Hill contacted her posing as a sorority sister and demanding that she perform sex acts on camera. Hill threatened to kick her out of the sorority if she didn't do as he asked.

Hill was charged with several counts of attempted video voyeurism and extortion.
