Someone calling himself Michael O'Brien sent an email to the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) in Greenwich defaming Gary Dell'Abate by making him look like a sexual deviant. The email came when Dell'Abate was running for a position on the Board of Parks and Recreation. The email stated that Dell'Abate hired prostitutes for the purpose of treating them badly on The Howard Stern Show and even accused him of tying up young girls in chains and calling them slaves.

Howard Stern proved his worth as a good friend by hiring a private investigator to get to the bottom of the email. The investigator could not find Michael O'Brien, but did confirm that the email came from an IP address on the town's network. The Greenwich Time newspaper tried to track down the author as well, but was unsuccessful. Dell'Abate was already having issues with RTM members due to his association with Howard Stern and because someone believed to be a Howard Stern fan put a bag of crap in the mailbox of one of the members. After clearing his name Dell'Abate was elected to the Board of Parks and Recreation.

Gary Dell'Abate is best known by his nickname Baba Booey that he has used on the radio for over 20 years. The name is feared by mainstream journalists because if they hear it at the end of a phone interview it means they have been the victim of a prank call.
