Michael Barrett Filmed & Posted Nude Videos of Erin Andrews

Michael David Barrett was convicted of several charges related to the interstate stalking and harassment of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews for which he received a 27 month prison sentence. Barrett had been arrested in October of 2009 after posting a video of Erin Andrews naked on several websites including Daily Motion. Barrett obtained the footage by stalking her to various hotels she was staying at while covering football games, altering peep holes, and filming her with his cell phone camera. After getting arrested police found out that he had conducted as many as 30 background checks using various online services for the purpose of obtaining birthdays and addresses of Andrews plus as many as 16 other women.

Barrett was tearful and apologetic at his sentencing, but Andrews understandably unsatisfied with his apology stating that never even tired to look her in the eye while apologizing. Andrews stated that Barrett is "a sexual predator" and "sexual deviant" that needs to be locked up. The judge agreed with Andrews and gave him the maximum sentence.

Despite this horribly embarrassing incident Andrews never let it make her miss a game and she used it to set an example for other women victimized in the same manner. She even obtained the copyright to the footage so that she go after anyone who re-posts the footage for copyright infringement as well as privacy invasion and other things that make creepy voyeurism illegal.
