Shawn Sayer was sentenced to 22 months in prison after a vicious internet stalking campaign that terrorized his ex-girlfriend even after she changed her name and moved out of state. Sayer used a combination of laptop computers and public WIFI connections to dodge law enforcement, but eventually police used video surveillance footage to connect him to multiple fake dating profiles.
The fake profiles contained erotic images and his ex-girlfriend's contact information for men to call if they were interested in kinky sex. The profiles resulted in her being groped in a hallway by a man who thought he was answering one of the fake personal ads. There were also incidents of men being invited to her workplace for sex.
