Ursula Reichert-Habbishaw was banned from the United States and sent back to Germany for stalking famous Hollywood actor Richard Gere back in 2002. She used a number of conventional and electronic means to pursue the leading man of her dreams with over 1,000 unwanted advances including telephone calls, fax messages, and showing up at his office in New York six times in a 14 month period. Some reports also indicate that email was used to send messages to Gere. She pleaded guilty to aggravated harassment and agreed to fly back to her home country and never return to the United States in exchange for no jail sentence.

Following her deportation the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) now know as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) put her on a stalker watch list. Her immigration status at the time of the staking has not been reported, so she is presumed to have been a regular legal alien traveler banned from the country for what she did.
